Irene Marron-Tarrazzi

Diplomate, American Board of Periodontology Dr. Marron-Tarrazzi is a Board Certified Periodontist in Miami, FL specializing in dental implants and treatment of periodontal diseases. Originally from Venezuela, Dr. Marron-Tarrazzi received her dental degree (D.M.D.) in 1996 from Universidad Central de Venezuela, where she graduated in the top five percent of her class. In 2000, Dr. Marron-Tarrazzi completed her post-doctoral training at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she received her Certificate in Periodontology and Master of Science degree (M.S.). Later in 2003, she earned her D.M.D. from Nova Southeastern University. Since 2004, Dr. Marron-Tarrazzi has been a Diplomate of American Board of Periodontology, this is an honorary distinction amongst the dental community. She is a visiting Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine, lecturing to pre-doctoral and post-doctoral dental students as well as The University of Florida. Her specialty areas of interest include Periodontal Medicine, Dental Implants and Soft tissue Grafting topics on which she lectures nationally and internationally. Her active participation in national and international dental societies includes Florida Dental Association, American Dental Association, South Florida District Dental Association, Pierre Fauchard Academy, American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). Dr. Marron-Tarrazzi was the president of the South Florida District Dental Association and Greater Miami Dental Association. She is currently is the Florida Representative for the American Dental Association, New Dentist Committee, a consultant to the Government Action Committee of the Florida Dental Association and an ITI Study Club Director. She is fluent in English and Spanish. When she is not at the office enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She loves reading, traveling and discovering new flavors of the local cuisine.

Erin Shan-Huey Yu

Clinical Assistant Professor Dept of Periodontics and Oral Medicine Dr. Erin Shan-Huey Yu earned her DDS from the School of Dentistry, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan and then worked at the University Hospital for two years as a General Dentistry Resident. She holds a Master of Science degree in Periodontics and Oral Medicine from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Yu is the recipient of the prestigious award 2018 American Academy of Periodontology Foundation (AAPF) Richard J. Lazzara Award that supported her in 2018-19 continuing including advanced implants training, teaching and research projects. She is also the awardee of the Midwest Society of Periodontology Research Prize and the recipient of the 2018 Ramfjord Award as the outstanding resident in University of Michigan Graduate Periodontics. In 2019, she was selected as the winner of Nevins BioHorizons Fellowship awarded by AAPF. She is also a board certified periodontitis by the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Yu has been actively involved in classroom and clinical teaching in both pre-doctoral student clinic and graduate periodontics program. She is currently Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan.
